John Joseph Hayes (27 June 1895 – 8 November 1979) was an Irish
Tipperary senior hurling team
. He usually lined out as a corner-back.
Career
Hayes first came to prominence as a hurler with the
Tipperary senior hurling team in 1917. It was the first year of a decade-long association with the team, culminating with the winning of the All-Ireland Championship in 1925. Hayes's other honours include three Munster Championship medals, while he was also included on the Ireland team for the 1924 Tailteann Games.[3]
Personal life and death
Hayes was born in the townland of Ballyerk in
Limerick-born artist Seán Keating.[4]
Hayes died aged 84 on 8 November 1979.[citation needed]
