John M. Rowan (born May 17, 1829 in

Speaker of the House from 1887 to 1889.[1] In 1891 he was appointed to the newly created state board of agriculture[2] and from 1892 to 1896 served as West Virginia State Treasurer.[3] In 1904, he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention
