José Miguel Gallardo (September 29, 1897 – July 18, 1976) was a
Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.[1]
Graduated from with a Bachelors in Arts from
Park College. Received his M.A. degree at Pennsylvania State University
.
He is most remembered today as a strong proponent of
high school. His revised education policies were reversed in 1942.[2]
In 1941, he put the island on "war alert" after the Attack on Pearl Harbor.
