Kijō (木城町, Kijō-chō) is a

Koyu District, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 October 2023, the town has an estimated population of 4,642 in 1857 households, and a population density of 32 persons per km2. [1]
The total area of the town is 145.96 square kilometres (56.36 sq mi).

Kijō is an inland town located in the central eastern part of Miyazaki Prefecture The Komaru River flows north to south through the center of the town, and along which multiple hydroelectric power generation dams have been constructed.

Climate

Kijō has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) characterized by warm summers and cool winters with light to no snowfall. The average annual temperature in Kijō is 15.6 °C. The average annual rainfall is 2234 mm with September as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 25.6 °C, and lowest in January, at around 5.5 °C.[2]
