LaShann Moutique DeArcy Hall (née LaShann Moutique Jones; born November 11, 1970)[2] is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Biography

Education & military service

DeArcy Hall received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Antioch College in 1992. She received a Juris Doctor magna cum laude, in 2000 from Howard University School of Law. She served in the United States Air Force, from 1995 to 1997.

Early career

After graduating from university, DeArcy Hall worked many jobs in the service industry to pay off her student loans. From 1992 to 1993 she was a

Seoul, South Korea.[1] From 1994 to 1997 she was a waitress at SOB's in New York City and at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, DC.[1]

On November 12, 2014, President

United States Senate Judiciary Committee on May 6, 2015.[9] On June 4, 2015, her nomination was reported out of committee by a voice vote.[10] On November 16, 2015, the United States Senate confirmed her nomination by a 93–1 vote.[11] She received her judicial commission on November 17, 2015.[6]
