LaVerne Masayesva Jeanne is an

University of Nevada at Reno, where she is an emerita associate professor.[1]

She received her PhD at

Paul R. Platero, Jeanne is one of the first two Native Americans to have received a PhD degree in linguistics.[3]

Her work has been primarily focused on the

endangered languages.[5] She was also involved with Hopi revitalization projects.[6][7][8]
