Lionell Spruill Sr. (born December 28, 1946, in

Virginia Senate from 2016 to 2024. Between 1994 and 2016, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates for the 77th district, made up of parts of the cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk.[1] In June 2023, he failed to win the Democratic primary to retain his seat, after redistricting which placed him in the same district as veteran state senator, Louise Lucas.[2]
