A post office was in operation at Lucerne from 1909 until 1930.[2] The community was named after Lake Lucerne, in Switzerland, the native home of an early settler.[3]
Geography
The community is located along the shore of
U.S. Forest Service in Lucerne.[5] There is no road access into Lucerne, though a commercial ferry connects the community with Stehekin at the northern end of the lake and the city of Chelan at the southern end.[6]
