Luya River

Luya River (Chinese: 鹿野溪), located in southeastern Taiwan,^[1] is a tributary of the Beinan River.^[2] Its watershed is distributed in the central and western parts of Taitung County,^[3] including most of Yanping Township,^[4] the northern end of Beinan Township,^[5] the southern end of Luye Township,^[6] and the southwestern end of Haiduan Township.^[7] The main stream originates from the southeast side of the main peak of Beinan Mountain at an elevation of 3,293 meters.^[8] It flows southeastward, then turns eastward near Fengshan, passes through Qingshui,^[9] Hongye,^[10] and Yanping,^[11] and finally joins the Beinan River near Rongshan.^[12]
