Meidericher Spielverein 02 e. V. Duisburg, commonly known as MSV Duisburg, is a German women's football club based in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia.
History
The
2. Bundesliga. In 2015–16, winning the league championship promoted the club to the 2016–17 Bundesliga. The club remained in the top level until 2020–21. In the 2021–22 season, they returned to the Bundesliga for the 2022–23 season.[1] Following a last-place finish in the 2023–24 Bundesliga, they withdrew from the 2024–25 2. Bundesliga season.[2] The decision was made to compete in the West Regionalliga, following the relegation of the men's team to the Regionalliga and the resulting financial deficits.[3]
