Admiral Mei Chia-shu (Chinese: 梅家樹; born 1963) is a Republic of China Navy Admiral who serves as the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of China Armed Forces since April 2023. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Administrative Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Republic of China from 2018 to 2019.

Early life and education

He was born in 1963, he entered the Republic of China Naval Academy and attended Chung-cheng Armed Forces Preparatory School at class 63. In 1985, he graduated at the class 56 in Naval Academy.

Military career

After graduated from Naval Academy, he commissioned as Ensign and held various positions in the Navy.[1][2]

In April 2023, Mei Chia-shu, who was then commander of the Navy, took office as Chief of the General Staff, filling a post left vacant by the retirement of General Chen Pao-yu.
