Mussey Township is a civil township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,234 at the 2020 Census.^[3]

The village of Capac is located within the township.

When the township was organized in 1855, it was named for Dexter Mussey, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from Macomb County^[4] and later Speaker of the House.^[5]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.0 square miles (93.2 km²), all land.

In the township the population was spread out, with 31.5% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 8.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females, there were 103.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.9 males.
