NoCGV Barentshav is a large
offshore patrol vessel of the Norwegian Coast Guard, and is their first liquefied natural gas-powered vessel. The contract was signed 21 October 2005, and NoCGV Barentshav was delivered in August 2009.[1]

On 11 and 12 September 2023, Barentshav was following the Russian
international maritime law. Yantar left the research vessel at 05:05 the next day, and Barentshav continued following the Russian spy ship.[2]
