Oracle BPEL Process Manager is a

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).[1]

Oracle BPEL engine was acquired from Collaxa, formally called Collaxa BPEL Server,[2] in April 2004.[3] Now it is a part of the Oracle SOA Suite.
