Oxygala

Oxygala (ὀξύγαλα, lit.'sour milk') was a dairy product consumed in the cuisines of ancient Greece and Rome. Oxygala was a form of buttermilk[1][2][3][4], considered to be an early form of yogurt, and was usually eaten with honey.[4][3] The dish was also known among the ancient Persians.[citation needed]
