Pramod Varshney
Pramod Kumar Varshney is a
electrical engineer at Syracuse University's College of Engineering and Computer Science
. He is known for research on distributed detection theory.
Varshney was named a
Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 1997 for contributions to the theory and applications of distributed detection and data fusion.[1]
He was honored with the 2021 IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Pioneer Award.[2]
Varshney was awarded the IEEE Judith A. Resnik Award in 2012.[3]
He was given the Yaakov Bar-Shalom Award for a Lifetime of Excellence by the International Society of Information Fusion in 2018.[4]
Varshney earned a PhD from the
University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in computer science in 1976 under Abraham H. Haddad
.
