Life and career

Born in

Radiodiffusion Télévision Algérienne as a documentarist.[2] His feature film debut Louss (aka Desert Rose, 1989) received wide critical acclaim.[3][4] In the 1990s he decided to settle permanently in Italy.[1][3] Starting from his second film Touchia his films become more socially and politically committed.[1][3] He is also a painter.[1]
