Ambassador to Iceland from 1989 to 1991.[1]

Early life

Best was born in Worthing, West Sussex, on 28 July 1933. He studied history at University College London, graduating Bachelor of Arts (BA).[1]

Career

On 31 December 1970, Best was appointed an officer of the

Her Majesty's Diplomatic Service.[2]

Honours

In the 1977

Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO), therefore granted the title of Sir.[4][5]
