Robert Gavin Melville (9 February 1919 – 18 May 1982) was an Australian politician. He was a

from 1973 to 1981.

Born in

Labor Party, he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Council in 1973 and served until 1981. Melville died in Kempsey in 1982.[1]

As a testament to his commitment to the local community, the new high school in Kempsey was named in his honour, Melville High School
