Ross Jordan Krautman is a former All-American football placekicker who played for the Syracuse Orange. Ross Krautman has been training MMA since 2015. [1] He was considered one of the best placekickers of his class. Ross graduated from Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ receiving multiple Division 1 full football scholarships since his sophomore year of high school. Ross was a big time football recruit out of NJ and started getting college letters from division 1 schools his freshman year of high school. When sophomore year rolled around, division 1 colleges started offering Krautman full scholarships. He committed to Syracuse University on a full football scholarship. He was a 3 time NJ All State high school football player/high school football All American. At Syracuse, Ross made All American his freshman year.[2] In 2013, during his senior year, he suffered a hip injury and didn't play for the remainder of the season. Following this, Ross retired from football.[1][3] Since 2015, Ross Krautman (RJ) has been fighting MMA. Ross (RJ) is a kickboxing/boxing coach.

As a freshman in 2010, Krautman hit 18 total field goals, tying single-season school record, and was named Rookie Male Athlete of the Year.[6] He also hit 16 consecutive field goals which again tied the single season school record. At the end of the season, he was ranked 21st nationally and tied for second among Big East kickers with 1.38 field goals per game.[7] His 95% field goal led the conference. He tied three Syracuse records held by former NFL great Gary Anderson. He was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News and Rivals.[1] He was the leading point scorer for Syracuse during the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Ross Krautman has been everything Syracuse football coach Doug Marrone expected him to be and then some. The freshman kicker from Franklin Lakes is 4-of-5 on field goal attempts, 15-of-16 on PATs and has averaged 61.8 yards on 14 kickoffs as the Orange have gone 3–1.
