History

The station was opened on 25 April 1985 as Yūenchi-nishi Station (遊園地西駅) with the opening of the Seibu Yamaguchi Line. On 13 March 2021, it was renamed to its current name.

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2019, the station was the 86th busiest on the Seibu network (and the least busiest on the Yamaguchi Line) with an average of 682 passengers daily.[1] The passenger figures for previous years are as shown below.
