Shayne Barry O'Connor (born 15 November 1973) is a former New Zealand international cricketer, who played in 19 Test matches and 38 One Day Internationals between 1997 and 2001.[1] After playing domestically for Otago between the 1994–95 and 2002–03 seasons, he retired from professional cricket after the 2003 Cricket World Cup.[2]
O'Connor was born at
Central Otago.[5]
O'Connor played 57 times for the New Zealand national cricket team, including taking a five-wicket haul in the semi-final of the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy.[6] He retired from cricket at the age of 29 in 2003, opting to take up an opportunity to establish a business at Alexandra in Central Otago.[7]
