Political Views
Gaffar is a well-known writer/columnist who holds secularist political views and he is a strong supporter of the ideology of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He has sometimes been criticized for pro-Awami League writings. [citation needed] Though the fact is if any one holds the secularist view and in favor of the liberation of Bangladesh, subsequently he is alleged as an Awami League supporter. He known to Bangladesh as a defender of Indian interest. He is one of a very few living Bangladeshi writers with any strong political philosophy.
