Claria Horn Boom (born 1969)[1] is an American lawyer. Currently a partner in the Lexington office of Frost Brown Todd LLC, she is a nominee to become a United States District Judge jointly to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

Nomination to district court

On June 7, 2017, President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Boom to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and a Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, to the joint seat vacated by Judge Jennifer B. Coffman.[2] On June 12, 2017, her nomination was sent to the United States Senate.[3] A hearing on her nomination before the Senate Judiciary Committee took place on November 15, 2017.[4] On December 7, 2017 her nomination was reported out of committee by voice vote. Her nomination is currently pending before the full United States Senate.[5] Boom received a "qualified" rating from the American Bar Association.[6]

Boom grew up in the Martin County, Kentucky, where her mother served as clerk of the court.[2]
