Maria Araujo Kahn is an Associate Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court.
Early life
Kahn was born in Angola, Africa. She emigrated to the United States at ten years of age and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.[1]
Education and legal career
Araujo Kahn earned an undergraduate degree from New York University. She was awarded a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1989.
Prior to her appointment to the Superior Court bench, Araujo Kahn served as an Assistant United States Attorney and prosecuted medical, financial and computer fraud cases. She was also an adjunct professor at University of Connecticut School of Law. After graduating from law school, she served as a clerk to former federal district court Judge Peter Collins Dorsey.[1]

She was first appointed to the Connecticut Superior Court in April 2006.[2]

On October 4, 2017 Kahn was one of two nominations made to the Connecticut Supreme Court.[6] He was confirmed and sworn into office on November 1, 2017.[7]
