Template editor

User:GKFX

@Primefac: Request for TE renewal. I've made reasonable use of the TE right, answering some edit requests and so on. I have responded where issues have been raised, e.g. Special:Permalink/1026347186#Bullet_points. I'm going to abstain from reviewing this, but I will note this discussion as potentially relevant. Primefac (talk) 21:32, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes apologies for the inconvenience caused there. After monitoring Category:Pages where post-expand include size is exceeded for a while I thought it would be helpful to make a pre-emptive bit of maintenance and use more modules directly, particularly with navboxes and infoboxes, rather than waiting for pages to break. As Izno mentioned there, there had been some discussion broadly in favour of such usage (although not of course for my specific bit of bulk editing) and I thought it seemed like reasonably harmless and uncontroversial cleanup.
Re-reading the discussion it does seem to have been mostly the naming that was in dispute. While I get Izno's point that the syntax {{#invoke:Infobox3cols||args...}} might be a bit cryptic, I had specifically set up the doc page to show exactly how to use the module so I do feel that I had done my best there. For what it's worth, I'm not presenting that as evidence for or against granting, just as something for the reviewing admin to consider. Primefac (talk) 21:57, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see the naming functions the empty string thing as a good faith thing thought to be uncontroversial and wouldn't hold it against them at all. While I agree it is a bad design choice and was rightly reverted we all make mistakes. The other edits of theirs that I've seen look good, but that's far from comprehensive. --Trialpears (talk) 22:09, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
