Sun Raster was a raster graphics file format used on SunOS by Sun Microsystems.[1] The format has no MIME type,[2] it is specified in @(#)rasterfile.h 1.11 89/08/21 SMI. The format was used for some research papers.[3][4]

graphics file format. In version 2.1.4 FFmpeg could encode and decode Sun Raster pixel formats bgr24, pal8, gray, and monow.[7]
The format does not support transparency.

The plain text Sun icon format specified in @(#)icon_load.h 10.5 89/09/05 SMI is unrelated to the Sun Raster format.[8]
