According to the United States Census Bureau, the Swift Trail Junction CDP has a total area of 3.7 square miles (9.6 km²), of which 3.7 square miles (9.5 km²) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²), or 0.9%, is water.^[3] Federal Correctional Institution, Safford, a low-security federal prison for male inmates, is located in the southwest corner of the CDP.
