Cast

Why was the cast removed from the infobox? ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 11:51, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

The infobox should list the "starring" roles. The only starring role we know of right now is Haley - he's Krueger so it's obvious he's a starring role - the others could end up being minor characters. Typically, a film poster will let us know who to include in the box, because it lists its own "Starring...".  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:57, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
How about Rooney Mara, she's Nancy for pete's sake! ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead---
Oh...yeah, I forgot who the actress was when I removed the others. She can obviously go back.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:06, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Characters

Wes Craven's characters return not as the originals. The only names I recognize are Dean and Nancy, and their characters have totally changed, maybe it should be Based on characters by: ? ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 11:54, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

"Characters by" includes Freddy and Nancy. You say "Characters by" instead of "Based on characters by" because the former is shorter, and the later would eat up unnecessary space in the infobox. It's always best to try and not list unnecessarily long names that end up taken two rows by themselves - if we can help it. "Characters by" and "Based on characters by" are equivalent terms.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:01, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Admin

I might as well as get an admin that is ready to delete the A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010 film) page when we're entirely finished with this article. I know just the person! ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 12:47, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

That admin usually isn't available at this time, I put an advertisement on the Admin's noticeboard at 13:11 (UTC) ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 13:29, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

The informations about the Nightmare: First Kills or Untitled Nightmare on Elm Street prequel where are finished??--82.52.143.236 (talk) 09:29, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Huh? ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 09:40, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Before the reboot's production, was in progress the development of prequel titled Nightmare: First Kills. The Imdb reported the article under the name "Untitled Nightmare on Elm Street prequel (2008)" but was later delete. The movie was cancelled in favor of rebooting. No information on it? if they find out.--82.52.143.236 (talk) 09:47, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Hm, never knew that, mustn't have ever gotten off of the ground, this one is a rebooted remake of the original. Not a sequel or a prequel. ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 09:55, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Those websites aren't reliable, try Bloody Disgusting.com, SUPER Reliable! there's always tons of Horror movie stuff there, also click references from the A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010 film) page. They should lead to reliable, horror movie websites ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 10:03, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

?? A Nightmare on Elm Street (film 2010) ??--82.52.157.109 (talk) 11:38, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

What's wrong with it? ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 13:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

In the article of Italian Wikipedia, the users speak about the canceled movie!--82.56.155.174 (talk) 17:41, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

The movie wasn't really "cancelled", the story just changed. They never really went into pre-production of a prequel. Most of it was general fan speculation (to my knowledge those above titles were never used or official...IMDb will post just about anything submitted to them). If some reliable sources can be found that discuss the story changes--how they went from a prequel storyline to a remake--then we can include it, but we cannot use unreliable sources or the Italian language Wikipedia.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 17:58, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Infobox Actors

Should we have the entire cast to the movie in the infobox? If you'll see A Nightmare on Elm Street, you can see even the little stars are billed ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 22:26, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Typically, the people in the infobox are the ones on the poster, because that indicates to use who the studio feels is "Starring". Since we do not have a poster, unless we get a source that says "lead male" or "lead female", I'd say we need to leave all out except for Haley and Mara, because we know their roles and we know the significance of those roles in the movie. The other roles are new to the story, and as such we don't know what type of impact they'll have at this time.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:09, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Remember when Nancy fell asleep in school and had a dream, remember her teacher? Why is she billed in the infobox on the A Nightmare on Elm Street ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 00:04, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
How is that related to this article? I understand what you're trying to do, but obviously not all of us here edit that article, so bringing it to the attention of this article isn't really going to change much. If you have an issue with that article, go to its talk page, not this one's talk page. --The Guy complain edits 00:11, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
All film articles I have been on contain all small role characters in the infoboxes. ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 00:16, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
She shouldn't be listed there. Based on the poster, only John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Nick Corri, Johnny Depp, and Robert Englund should be listed in the infobox. I don't know why the others are listed, or when they were originally put there. Per the guidelines for the box (see see here), it should be for starring roles. Those other names certainly are not starring roles. The question arises for "what's starring". Generally if they are on the poster then it's considered "starring" by the studio. Sometimes you can make a case for a character that isn't listed by the poster, but it's always been my experience that if you stick to the poster then you eliminate subjectivity - or at least you pawn it off onto the studio. Wikipedia should be making the least amount of judgment calls as possible, and if we can just look to something the studio creates to answer a studio-related question, then I say we do that.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:50, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, film articles aren't exactly my experience, as I only edit them in-and-out. However, like Bignole said, I'm sure you could make a case for what "starring roles" means. I think a very good point was made in that Wikipedia should be limited in subjective answering, and we should stick to that train of thought. Dispute settled? --The Guy complain edits 01:04, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
There was never really a dispute, just a debate. I guess I contact the film WikiProject and try to get a guideline together, I can see the poster thing, but what about Freddy vs. Jason? Only Freddy and Jason are in the poster. I guess we'll try to work something out. ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 01:50, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
There are always exceptions to every rule. We should probably upload over top of it with this poster that actually has the film production info. Here, Monica, Kelly, Jason, Christopher, Lochlyn, and Robert are the only ones listed. Ken Kirzinger isn't listed, but one could easily argue that he should be in the infobox given the importance of the Jason character to the film.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 01:55, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Do you mean you want to change the photo? ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 02:02, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Already have.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:35, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't like it, it seems fan made, are you sure it isn't? ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 02:55, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
How does it seem fan-made? It looks just like the other one, except with the production text at the bottom, as-is standard movie poster protocol (or something). --The Guy complain edits 02:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
It seems too pushed up, Freddy and Jason should be down a little more ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 03:01, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
IMPAwards doesn't post fanmade stuff, to my knowledge - especially not ones that are being sold on Amazon. It's just another version for the original poster. Apparently it's one of several dozen designed by BLT and Associates. There is another over at vs. Jason&f=c&FindID=18407&P=1&PP=1&sortby=PD&cname=Freddy+vs%2E+Jason&SearchID= Allposters.com. Anyway, this isn't for this page, so we need not go into this particular poster any further. If necessary, it can be discussed more at the FvJ page.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 03:02, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah, we should probably discontinue Freddy vs. Jason talk on this page. ---Scarce |||| You shouldn't have buried me, I'm not dead--- 03:05, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
