Maybe Mylène Farmer has Canadian citizenship from birth location, but she was, afaik, the daughter of a French engineer working in Canada, and thus does hold French citizenship. She made her whole career in France, also. David.Monniaux 06:54, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Name Issues

Is this woman's last name truly Jacotey, rather than "Jacotet"? I realize that the French article lists it as such, but a quick Google seems to mix reports of the spelling. Is this a Corsican oddity, perhaps? It just seems very strange to me that it would be spelled as such. "Scotto"

Inappropriate image

As far as I am aware, Chameleon, posting screenshots from televised broadcasts falls under fair use, so there is wide range of source materials available from which you could potentially get pictures of this girl. It is not necessary that you use screenshots from amateur videos. Considering that, I do not feel it is appropriate to have the main pictures for this article be a motion-blurred image of Alizée's face and a vulgar shot of her buttocks. Find a more respectable picture, or don't use one at all.

Now, if you want to create a subtopic that specifically addresses Alizée's sexuality and the recent back-and-forth moral debates that went on in the French media regarding this girl, and then insert this picture as an illustrative example of her vulgarity, I have no objections. I just feel the picture you selected shouldn't be used as a primary photograph for the article. -- EHS

You talk as though I'm arguing about it! Just find a nice pic of her and put it on the page. Chameleon 09:05, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

more info

this is basically a stub, there's hardly any information 67.177.163.251 01:47, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Three pics?

Well add some info then! At least is has some pics. You can't complain about the lack of images. — Chameleon 10:44, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Jérémy Chatelain? What a lucky bastard. And he's just a kid too. — Chameleon 09:11, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Laurent Boutonnat?

The French language article mentions a Laurent Boutonnat. My comprehension of French is dismal, so I'm not sure whether he is significant enough to include in this article.

Yes, he's significant enough to be included in this article. He composed the music for Alizée and for Myléne Farmer. Robodesign 14:46, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

Hannah-Lili vs. Anny-Lee

We had the same discussion in the german WP... I found the scan of an article from "France Dimanche" that should settle this: http://www.alizee-fan-forum.de/viewtopic.php?t=3338&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25 (about 1/3 down the page) --Xeper 10:14, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Ok looks like the 1 article with Hannah-Lili was a mistake, 3 other sources claim Anny-Lee so I guess we go with Anny Lee.  ALKIVAR 16:40, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

jp:

My japanese isn't very good (i.e. almost non-existant), but the link to the jp: Page [[ja:アリゼ]] seems to point to a "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name." page. Maybe someone could check that? --Xeper 13:28, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

  • I agree. It was added by HansChung, so I left him a message. Hopefully he will know what's going on. - Stoph 19:54, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
  • I removed the link. He says he is banned from Japanese Wikipedia for a while, so he probably won't create it soon. - Stoph 18:44, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Alizee Jacotey Topless

Fleshbot posted a link to a Metacafe video that apparently shows Alizee naked [1]. Just wondering if a small section should be written about that on the page? --86.139.53.60 23:34, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Couple reasons why not... 1) nudity is no big deal 2) no way to conclusively prove its her unless she states that was her 3) its not all that controversial... she was topless on a topless beach! If she had been say Topless in a church or some other "less appropriate" venue ... then it might be worthy of inclusion.  ALKIVAR 01:48, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

Trivia Section

Does anyone feel that the trivia section needs to be kept? This isn't a fan site set up by a ten year old -who cares what her star sign is or what her favourite colour is? I vote that the whole section is deleted. The preceding

This has bothered me too. I try to comment parts separately below. --Easyas12c 01:16, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
  • Astrological sign: Leo
    • Should be removed. There are a billion different astologic sign systems, and the signs can be calculated from date of birth. So no need for explicitly naming it in the article. As it has not been scientifically proven to have any use.
  • Height: about 1.61 m
  • Weight: about 45 kg
  • Hair color: brown
  • Eye color: dark brown
    • Wether the looks of people should be described in articles seems to be an forever debate in Wikipedia. I'd say "Get a good photograph", but I leave this open to discussion
  • Hobbies: dancing, theater and singing
    • Hobbies should be mentioned, if they lead to something notable. I don't think these should be mentioned separately.
  • Prizes: M6 Music Award, NRJ Music Award and World Music Award
    • These should be mentioned, linked, marked properly, but the entries should be more specific.
  • Likes: the beach, shopping, dolphins, her black labrador retriever, Patrick Bruel, the colour purple
  • Dislikes: the colour green, lies and hypocrisy, hip hop (if it's not french)
    • You can never really list what a person likes and dislikes. How do these affect in her music. Feel free to analyze her songs (lyrics) on separate pages. Else I'd remove the lists.
  • Favourite actor: Brad Pitt
  • Favourite actress: Julia Roberts
  • Favourite film: The Big Blue by Luc Besson
  • Favourite sportsman: Zinédine Zidane (Football/Soccer)
  • Favourite cuisine: Asian cuisine
    • These may change very rapidly. They should be mentioned only, if they somehow affect her music.
  • Family: she has a little brother (Johann), her father is a computer scientist and her mother is a businesswoman.
    • Please get full names, and exact working positions or academic degrees. (I wonder what a businesswoman is)
  • Some sources claim that the various music videos of Alizée dancing are what inspired the female night elf dance in World of Warcraft.

<= have you played that game? No so don't talk about stuff you don't know. Alizee's dance IS the night elf dance. Copied to the last detail. There is NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. MMMKAY?

No. I'm not a dance expert either. I wouldn't recognise which are just standard dance moves, and what actually is a coreography. I just think the dances can be similar without either one being the original source. --Easyas12c 01:08, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

I think the trivia section is very fansite-ish and should be abolished, with any real content paragraph-ized. - Stoph 06:10, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Third Album Speculations/Rumors

Should the rumors regarding the third abum of Alizee be included in this page? Or keep only the known/confirmed facts only? Or should a new speculative page regarding her third album be created?
