No - this has to do with the rules of Arabic and which letters cause the L in Al- to be elided. S does this, Q does not. Occasionally we see, in English transliteration, Al- written with an L, as it appears written in Arabic text - but not as it is pronounced. This depends on the choice of who does the transliteration and is related to one's philosophy of transliteration. In general, I favour the "Al Sahab" way of doing it, but not for the reason you do - however since this page is already established, I'm fine with it. Although, I do think "Al Sahab" should redirect to this article. Someone added an entry with a reference to the Wired article. This is followed by a note about needing a more authenticative source. Considering that I am the person interviewed in the Wired article and who gave the presentation at Black Hat, perhaps I can provide a more authoritative source: http://www.hackerfactor.com/papers/bh-usa-07-krawetz-wp.pdf This paper describes the methods I used and provides examples.

However, considering that I am the source of this material, I do not believe that it is appropriate for me to edit this wikipedia entry. Doing so could be considered a bias. I will leave it up to others to determine what should be added and how.

This doesn't look like the "official" as-sahab web site. This seems to be some kind of fatwa site with muftis giving advice. I doubt there is something official.

The news media and many sites, and indeed this article often say "on an Islamic militant Website where Al-Sahab posts messages".

Yet, we never hear the name of the site(s)?

Joe Lieberman and as sahab on youtube

it looks like sen joe lieberman is trying to pull videos produced by this group (and other pro al qaeda videos) from youtube. This is likely significant to this article.

In the intelligence community it is know that As-Sahab videos are produced by the American company IntelCenter. The CIA has contracted out creation of these propaganda movies to this company. The company openly releases and sells these movies.
