Freddy Ill with Aids

Not bad, but needs a bit of work

While I found the article interesting, I have to say that it may need a little bit of work. As I noted in my edit of Feb.6, 2006, we need a citation for the statement that the recording of Barcelona was a dream of Mercury's. Even if it was, I don't suppose that necessarily means it's particularly notable. At any rate, I'll leave that up to others who know the man and his music better than I. My biggest concern with this article, though, is the three-line dialogue between Mercury and Montserrat Caballé. While it's interesting, I'm not sure it's:

  1. Relevant.
  2. Factual.
  3. Encyclopedic.

Thank you for your input, DWaterson. I've removed the dialogue, as nobody seems to have objected. In case anyone wants to see it, here it is:
Montserrat Caballé : "How many songs are there in a Rock and Roll album?"
Freddie Mercury : "Well ... err ... 10!"
Montserrat Caballé : "Well, write 10 songs!"

Wait a minute, I'm certain I saw the interview where Freddie says this, for certain. I even have the picture in my head - he was standing by a jukebox in a corner, for some odd reason, and he was talking about Montserrat Caballé, when this dialogue was related. time relevance

"Barcelona was dedicated to the city of Barcelona in honor of the 1992 Summer Olympics, which were hosted there."

The song was recorded 5 years prior to those Olympics, can we verify this? (anon. edit by 66.27.72.245}

Well, it was written after the city was selected as a host in 1986. And it's written in the album liner notes. Peter S. 12:13, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics of "The Fallen Priest" and "The Golden Boy"

The article says, in the individual description of each song, that the lyrics of these two were written by Jim Vallance. But the track listing (in the article and in my CD) says it was Tim Rice. In addition, the track listing gives Vallance credit for "Overture Piccante" (of which I can't find any evidence in my CD). I don't see any reference to this work in either Vallance or Rice Wikipedia entries.

Billboard chart

Didnt this album chart on Billboard's Top Crossover Albums chart at no. 6 back in 1992, the year of Queen's comeback in North America? Here is all that i can find.
