Might be making an inference here, but Taqwus sounds a lot like Tahquitz... I read a Louis L'Amour novel that is linked in The Lonesome Gods (obviously not an historic account) that described Tahquitz as a trickster that stole the souls of villagers at night while living in the mountains near Agua Caliente Reservation. Is this the same deity, and if it is, is this an Anglicized spelling of it? (I'm no expert or I'd go find out myself.) 216.117.192.91 (talk) 16:07, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
