I would have expected this-

Openstreetmap - to be included, no ? Sean Heron (talk) 12:00, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply

remove mapquest

there is no information of mapquest included in this article, so not really helpfull and btw. the table is not really read-friendly —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.78.34.56 (talk) 23:03, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yandex maps

What do you think about adding information about Yandex maps? They are rather popular in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan. If it is interesting for many people I can post information on this matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artem.kolotilkin (talkcontribs) 07:29, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spatial Reference

Adding the Map projection of each service to the table would be a nice to have. Great overview!

Order of companies

It's not clear to me why the services are ordered in the comparison table the way they are. It's not alphabetical and it's not by popularity. Could someone reorder them?

Hitwise[1] ranks them thus: Google Maps, MapQuest, Bing Maps, Yahoo Maps.

File:Ovi maps.png Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:Ovi maps.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Offline capability ?

Wouldn't it make sense to add offline capability/feature to the comparison tables? Misuo (talk) 11:25, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Age of Satellite Imagery

Google - Current wiki version claims "1–3 years old". In my area, EGNL, it's over 10 year old, and elsewhere, much older. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.158.82.189 (talk) 22:42, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Number of "Edit Points" Available in Editing Routing

Would be nice if this comparison included how many times you can edit a route when getting directions, either through adding destinations or "dragging" the route line as can be done on most of these services.

So...number of destinations per route and number of edit points on a route would be welcome. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.3.8.253 (talk) 16:09, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of Apple Maps

Should Apple Maps be in the table? It doesn't actually have a web interface – only custom applications to access the map from, so it's not really that much of a web map service. Jc86035 (talkcontributions) 11:32, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Apple MapKitJS is now available for websites https://developer.apple.com/documentation/mapkitjs rverrips 07:55, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yahoo Maps discontinued

Yahoo was shutting down its Maps site by the end of June 2015[1]. So Yahoo Maps should be no longer in the table. I have removed the service from the comparison. 87.153.217.166 (talkcontributions) 09:05, 13 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:5F:2D04:D33:A479:C23B:84F1:D7FF (talk) [reply]

Available in China

Many of these map services do not work when viewed on websites in China. Would be nice to know which ones. 08:55, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

Adding Waze

I suggest adding waze to the list as they also have a map of the world, independent of the other services. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SirKitKat (talkcontribs) 12:43, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bicycle Routing in Mapquest ?

The table states that Mapquest offers Bicycle Routing. I cannot find any trace of that feature on the Mapquest web site. Can someone more knowledgable look into this, please. Voschix (talk) 17:02, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mapy.cz is an OSM renderer

Proof:

Because of this it is misleading to grant mapy.cz its own column and I would suggest to remove the entry.-- Pension Pennerglück (talk) 13:39, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. Mapy.cz needs to be merged with OSM. Venudxb (talk) 06:17, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Map Compare

A "Comparison of web map services" wouldn't be complete without mentioning Map Compare. Jidanni (talk) 15:47, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
