A note

I'm happy to see that "conserved name" and "nomen conservandum" have been re-united in a single article, although it does still need some cleanup. I would note (and this has previously been pointed out by Brya) that the term "nomen conservandum" is not, strictly speaking, defined by the

International Code of Botanical Nomenclature. I suppose the definition is expected to be implicit or self-explanatory in the discussion of the term and the concept within the text of the Code, but this is one of many areas where the ICBN is quite exasperating. (Nomen nudum is another term that is used in the Code without being formally defined.) MrDarwin 15:46, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply
