I removed the histological slide since I don't believe it shows elastic fibres. Elastic fibres typically appear as straight lines in a whole mount, not wavy lines as pictured. Might that be collagen? CaseInPoint (talk) 19:53, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
An Illustration Suggestion
Perhaps we can find or generate an illustration of elastogenesis and the formation of an elastic fiber. Maybe a poiarization micrograph of elastin birefringence. Normal and defected in disease micrograph. GetAgrippa 02:23, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
