Connection to the past?

Can anyone explain how this song connects to Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me performed by Mel Carter & others, from thirty years earlier?

Recording year

The continued attempts to add 1993 as a recording year without citing a reference will keep getting reverted. First of all,

WP:CITE clearly lay out that information added to Wikipedia should be cited with reliable sources. If it can't be cited, they it shouldn't be added. Secondly, the recording year is likely not 1993 anyways. It is well established that the song was unfinished when Zooropa was released, and it was not released until 1995. Therefore, you have a 2 year window in which it could have been worked on, but you don't know for certain when it was. The song could have been completely re-recorded in 1995 before its release. Or the band could have worked on it continuously for 2 years. The point is, we don't know because there aren't references that exist to prove it. The biggest hint yet is that the song was co-produced by Nellee Hooper, who most certainly did not work with U2 in 1993 but rather 2 years later. Furthermore, the single's liner notes mention 2 studios the band definitely did not work at when recording Zooropa, so this must have been subsequent recording. All of this is just a long way of saying: we don't know precisely when the song was recorded. Therefore, we shouldn't add it to the article.
