Paul De Man and the Soir

Paul De Man was accused of collaborationist views after he was found to have written numerous articles for Le Soir during the war years. In the De Man article Le Soir is said to be a collaborationist newspaper. It would be interesting to see somethiung on this issue. Everybody got to be somewhere! Francophone?

Can a newspaper said to be Francophone? According to Dictionary.com Francophone has two meanings:

  • 1. adjective: (Also, Francophonic) [frang-kuh-fon-ik]. speaking French, especially as a member of a French-speaking population.
  • 2. noun: a person who speaks French, especially a native speaker.

I don't think "speaking French" should be taken literally and it is adjectival. —Brigade Piron (talk) 19:27, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
