Suggestion

Perhaps this would be better as a chart like the chronological list. say1988

Members

They are not "members" until they are inducted in the summer. Gwynn and Ripken should be removed until that time.Kinston eagle 01:53, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how strict I'd be on that interpretation; it could be argued that they're members as soon as their election is announced, but that formal induction follows a couple of months later. I know the College Football Hall of Fame has a particularly drawn-out process, in which there's an induction banquet in NYC a few months after election (I believe in December) and then another enshrinement at the Hall in Indiana the following summer, nearly a year and a half after the election is announced. I realize the Baseball HoF process is a bit simpler, but I'm not sure I want to split that hair. MisfitToys 02:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Improvement

Can this list mirror the List of members of the Baseball Hall of Fame (chronologial) category? That category provides more information in a form that is easy to follow. Bbagot 19:32, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

This seems like a relatively minor piece of cleanup to me.

List of members of the Baseball Hall of Fame by date of induction
and this list are content forks created before the advent of sortable tables. Given the ability to sort now, there is currently no need for two different lists that offer the same information. Especially when the date of induction list is in far better shape than this one.

I will also throw this here, as presuming they do get merged, I also believe that

featured list criteria as it is completely lacking in citations and sources. That, however, should be a very easy thing for someone with a couple decent baseball histories to fix up. Resolute 00:20, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply
