GA Reassessment

Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch
Currently, the article does not meet the GA criteria. There are three main flaws:

  • It fails criterion 1b, since the lead is two sentences. According to
    WP:LEAD
, it should be two to four paragraphs, and cover all main aspects of the article.
  • It fails criterion 2a, since the references are incorrectly formatted. Basically all the references lack publisher and author information. Ref 17 (Delaney, 2005) lacks page numbers. There are also sections that are not refernced.
  • It fails criterion 3, due to unduly bias against the latest version. The article is about all releases of the program, yet the bulk of material only covers 2008 (and to a lesser extent, 2005). Especially the history section, that should give even weight to all versions, focuses on the two latest versions. It would almost be easier to just rename this article Microsoft SQL 2008 and start the main article at scratch. Unlike what is expected of software articles, there is no section for reception, and 20 years of development is hidden within a few sentences of the history section.

Since the article does not meet the criteria, I will delist it after a week if no major work to sort out the issues is initiated. Arsenikk (talk) 12:50, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A week has passed, and there has been no attempt to address the issues. I am therefore delisting the article. Arsenikk (talk) 11:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
