Branching is minimized?

It may be obvious to those familar with polymerization reactions or aromatic reactions but maybe not to everyone that the ideal situation described is not a complete picture. There are reactions which can turn the nice "string of pearls" polymerization into a "snarl of knots". Branching (also can be called crosslinking) is a real problem in keeping the product "nice". —The preceding
