If I'm not mistaken, The song "Stay" was written by Maurice Williams, not Frankie Valli --Dudeness10 15:43, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion of term

If I'm not mistaken, the term "roadie", while originally referring to a road crew, can now refer to technicians who assist with stationary or one-shot productions, as well as travelling affairs. Some session musicians, particularly drummers, hire roadies to set up and break down their kit prior to/after recording sessions, for example (the session guy can pass the cost along to the client).

Likewise, don't roadies work for productions other than musical concerts? --EngineerScotty 04:33, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The term 'Roadies' generally refers to touring musical technicians. Even in that profession, the term has become somewhat passe'. Often, the touring crew refer to themselves by their individual specialties. Others fiercely defend and preserve the moniker. It's an individual thing.

That said, this article devotes much unwarranted space to roadies who have become--permanently or otherwise--performers. The vast majority of them never have, never will...and likely never wanted to, perform on stage. Much more emphasis needs to be placed on them. While it's a cliche' in the business that all roadies are frustrated performers, there's only a little truth in it. Most are dedicated professionals in their own rite. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.187.98.20 (talk) 01:36, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
