The Munster's page says that Grandpa Munster's real name was Sam Dracula. Does anyone know where that came from?

• Possibly particaly from the "Drag Racing" epsiode in which Grandpa's "Coffin dragster" has a Transelvania "License plate" with name "Dracula b.1367 d ?"

• Oppose this was never the charcter's name. It is a falsehood developed by fans. He was lilly's dad and not Herman therefore he was never a "Munster". On the show he was known as "Grandpa" so you could possibly do

• As a casual fan, I was unfamiliar with the fact that he was only referred to as "Grandpa," something I should have noticed on "The Munsters" page. I understood that he was Lily's dad, but was under the impression that the "Grandpa Munster" name was just a common on-the-show misnomer. Since I was incorrect on the move's controversial nature, I guess I'll Oppose my own request. While Grandpa Munster is what (probably most) fans know him as, it's still not his name according to the creators and the show's own mythology, and a little research on my part would have revealed this.--Tim Thomason 23:21, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. You obviously aren't the first one to make that mistake. I've taken down the propsed move tag. Have you any strong feeling about merging this and other characters' articles back to The Munsters? I'm ambivalent. As I don't know how to remove it from that page (or whether I should), I guess I'll put the tag back up for consistency. There are other character's pages as well; Lily Munster and Eddie Munster. Whatever happens to this article should be applied there as well. I don't care if the article gets merged, but if it does, I think The Munsters is the place to go. Preferably, there should be a published source from the writers or producers of the series (or someone else considered canonical). If it's just a dispute between fans, then "incorrect" is likely POV. IMDB lists him as Grandpa Munster in both "Munster, Go Home" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060726/ and "The Munsters' Revenge" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082778/. • Merge to Munsters, as others pointed out. Apply also to most other Munster character. Saves pointless discussions. Updated: I put merger tags on the separate articles. Turns out that the most famous charcter, Herman Munster, has no article of his own anyway, but is only a redirect.--
