To do list

  • The article needs beefing up in general, for example more information on the progress of the individual indicators would be good.
  • Add some images
  • More hyperlinks to other Wikipedia articles (and from those articles to this one)
  • Maybe add a section about reception (controversies).
  • Simplify some of the language, shorten some sentences.
  • Make the lead a bit longer (true summary of the article, if possible) EMsmile (talk) 15:29, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with Target 1.1

This section starts with 'The full text of Target 1.1 is: "By 2030, eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere, currently measured as people living on less than $1.90 a day."' but the $1.90 figure is not in the 6 July 2017 Resolution; rather the figure is $1.25. $1.90 is used in other sources and I don't know what explains the difference. More importantly, the line in the last paragraph, "The transmission mechanism of COVID-19 in the transportation of food, especially meat, because the low temperature can prolong the survival time of the virus, and workers' close contact can easily lead to infection, then resulting in the disruption of the food supply chain.", does not make sense and I don't think it is backed up by the Laborde & Martin source. thanks for pointing out that Covid sentence. I've removed that now. If anything, it should be in the Covid challenges section that comes further below. As to the $ 1.90 I don't know the answer. Haven't looked into that. Can someone get to the bottom of it? Perhaps we need to provide both values then? EMsmile (talk) 22:52, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
