The article says "Yahoo Tech, places the first Unboxing video to be for the Nokia E61 cellphone in 2006," and feels 2006 is when people started searching for "unboxing" in larger numbers. However, here's an example of a person doing a hardware product unboxing way back in 1982 — unpacking and showing off a Commodore 64 computer in exactly the same way one would do an unboxing today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTbgmJf_-E — is it worth noting this and/or trying to ascertain the real first/oldest unboxing video, even if the more widespread term "unboxing" didn't become commonplace until later? — Mecandes (talk) 17:42, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The term "unboxing" has an entirely different common usage in gadget/computer hardware blogs and publications, and IMHO rather than a redirect to object type, this page should be a disambiguation page with a link to unboxing (hardware). Raines 03:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
