JFK

The section that says: "Some people erroneously credit President Kennedy with creating the Navy SEALs." is wrong.

It states right on the navy's own website (under Specific Responsibilities) "Navy SEALs have been living up to their highly skilled, intensely disciplined reputation since being established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 as a small, elite maritime military force suited for all aspects of unconventional warfare." http://www.navy.com/careers/special-operations/seals.html

So, either the navy itself doesn't know the correct origin of the SEALs, or that section needs a rewrite. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 26.161.108.82 (talk) 11:44, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Misbehavior

The NYT has an article about A Beating Death and Claims of a Cover-Up, claiming that Navy Seals beat up Afghan prisoners, killing one of them. They were cleared of all allegations in a closed disciplinary procedure; there was no court-martial. Clearly Wikipedia

is not a newspaper

, so I am not saying that this information has to be added to the article right away, but I was surprised that I could not find a subsection "Criticism" or "Misbehavior" or "Allegations of ..." in our article. Can it be that this is the first time that such serious allegations against Seals have surfaced?

Numbers

For the infobox, it currently states personnel numbers at 2500+ per a recent source at navy.mil. However, a writer at sofrep.com states there are actually 6900, (8200 including DEVGRU). Discuss. -

I didn't know that the U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s Won the War At Iraq.

1993 U.S. Army Special Forces Teams inserted into U.S. Ally Iraq, Baghdad Iraq, Target Identification, Directed U.S. Airstrikes and U.S. Cruise Missile Attacks, Target Damage Assessments. Cause of the 1993 First Osama Bin Laden Attack against the World Trade Center.

1996 U.S. Army Special Forces Teams inserted into U.S. Ally Iraq, Baghdad Iraq, Target Identification, Directed U.S. Airstrikes and U.S. Cruise Missile Attacks, Target Damage Assessments.

1998 President Clinton's 1998 State of the Union Address "Weapons of Mass Destruction", demanding U.S. Congress Declare War Against U.S. Ally Iraq in accordance with Only U.S. Congress can Declare War, U.S. Laws U.S. Senate 1973 War Powers Resolution, U.S. House of Representatives 1973 War Powers Act. As President Clinton got into near Impeachable Trouble by Violating these Two Laws with the previous 1993, and 1996 U.S. Airstrikes and U.S. Cruise Missile Attacks.

1998 U.S. Congress Declared War Against U.S. Ally Iraq with U.S. House of Representatives U.S. Law, Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, Goals, "Overthrow Iraqis President Saddam Hussein, Liberate the Iraqis People, Install a Democracy".

1998 U.S. Army Special Forces Teams inserted into U.S. Ally Iraq, Baghdad Iraq, Target Identification, Directed U.S. Airstrikes and U.S. Cruise Missile Attacks, Target Damage Assessments as 1998 U.S. Military Operation Desert Fox. There were no Iraqis Military Assets at Baghdad anymore they had been moved into large circles outside of Baghdad Iraq, President Clinton's idea was to U.S. Airstrike and U.S. Cruise Missile Attack the Overcrowded Urban Poor Areas of Baghdad Iraq so that the Muslims would Rise Up and Overthrow Iraqis President Saddam Hussein. In response the Shia of Iraq (Millions of Iranians living at Iraq, Ally of the Muslim Nation of Iran) declared "The U.S. is The Great Satan." The Muslim Nation of Iran Announced to the 1.5 Billion Muslims Worldwide that the U.S. is The Great Satan as in accordance with the Holy Koran All Muslims Must Fight the Great Satan. Osama Bin Laden Declared "Revenge For the Murders of the Innocent Poor of Islam", this would become the Second Osama Bin Laden Attack of the World Trade Center as the 9/11 2001 Attacks, this would cause the U.S. War Against the Afghan Taliban Government that provided Osama Bin Laden and His Al Quada with Islamic Sanctuary in accordance with the Holy Koran Sura 2, Funding and Logistics Support to Conduct the 9/11 2001 Attacks.

2001, days after the 9/11 2001 Attacks U.S. Army Special Forces Teams attached to the CIA, CIA's SAD and SOG entered Afghanistan to conduct President Bush's CIA Operation Neptune Spear as written by U.S. Army Special Forces Lieutenant General McChrystal and U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. Admiral McRaven. This Failed as due to President Clinton's 1993 to 2001 Destruction of the U.S. Defense the U.S. Funded Intelligence Assets Worldwide were no longer Funded. There were no U.S. Funded Local Afghan Intelligence Assets to assist the CIA Teams to get to Safe Locations, Evade the over 5 Million Afghan Taliban, Assist the less than 300 of the CIA Teams to Locate Osama Bin Laden. The Mission was then changed to Overthrow the Afghan Taliban Government. Those of Us that had been involved with CIA Operation Cyclone knew that the Afghans that Hated the Afghan Taliban for the Murders of their Families, Relatives, Friends since 1990 when the U.S. Abandoned the 1980s Pro U.S. Afghan Muhajeen with the 20,000 to 50,000 getting massacred, the Afghan Taliban then Systematically Massacred about a Million Afghan Men, Women, and Children as Collaborators to the Christians, Jews and Unbelievers (Kafir), so we got in contact with them convinced them to stop killing each other, Formed the Northern Alliance, Overthrew the Afghan Taliban Government.

2001 In Hot Pursuit. U.S. Army Special Forces, U.S. Air Force Special Air Operations Wings (AC-130s), chased Osama Bin Laden, Al Quada, Millions of Afghan Taliban, Holy Warriors of Islam from Western Afghanistan along the Old Silk Road above the Muslim Nation of Iran, into Northern Iraq. Orders Eliminate those Responsible for the 9/11 2001 Attacks, Supported the 9/11 2001 Attacks. The Millions (30 Million) Kurdistanis at Northern Iraq Allied themselves to Osama Bin Laden, Al Quada, Millions of Afghan Taliban, Holy Warriors of Islam and formed Ansar Al Islam (Hand of Islam).

2001. CIA Operation Hotel California with attached U.S. Army Special Forces Teams from the U.S. Army's 5th Special Forces Group (Average U.S. Army Special Forces of 5th Group speak Arabic, Farsi, Pashtu, as graduates from the Defense Language Institute (Academy) as well as Cultural Anthropology of Target, Mission Nations, U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s routinely do not. Attempts to have the Kurdistanis fight Ansar Al Islam Failed, only one Kurdistanis Warlord will (later he and his entire force were massacred by the Majority of Kurdistanis).

2001. U.S. Military Operation Viking Hammer. U.S. Army 5th Special Forces Group attached to CIA, CIA SAD and SOG, U.S. Army 10th Special Forces Group, U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division, U.S. Air Force Special Operations Wings, engage Ansar Al Islam's Millions. Operation Failed when the Muslim Nation of Iran gave Ansar Al Islam Islamic Sanctuary, Osama Bin Laden, Al Quada, Millions of Afghan Taliban, Holy Warriors of Islam return to Afghanistan thru Muslim Nation of Iran. Overloaded Vehicles heading towards U.S. Ally Syria a U.S. Ally since 1990, from the recently evacuated Iraqis Chemical Weapons Manufacturing Plant at Sargat Iraq are seen by the U.S. Army's 5th Special Forces Group's Special Reconnaissance Teams.

Because President Clinton had 1993 to 2001 Destroyed the U.S. Defense (U.S. Military, U.S. Intelligence Agencies, U.S. Department of State related Defense Projects and Programs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and many more) this Money not spent became President Clinton's "Budget Surplus", there was no U.S. Military Capable of the Liberation of Iraq. 2001 President G.W. Bush "Inherited" President Clinton's 1998 Declared War Against U.S. Ally Iraq.

2002 Democrats of U.S. Senate demanded that President G.W. Bush "Accomplish" the President Clinton 1998 Declared War Against Iraq with U.S. Senate Law, 2002 Iraq War Resolution, this was Veto Proof as tied directly to President Clinton's 1998 Declared War Against Iraq, Iraq Liberation Act of 1998.

2002 U.S. Military Operation Hotel California (not 2001 CIA Operation Hotel California). U.S. Army 5th Special Forces Group attached to CIA, CIA SAD and SOG, U.S. Army 10th Special Forces Group, U.S. Air Force Special Operations Wings, CIA Kurdistanis Peshmerga of the One Warlord, the 173rd Airborne arrives. U.S. Ally Turkey stated that the Muslim Nation of Turkey will not Allow U.S. Forces to use U.S. Bases at Turkey to Attack Iraq, the Iraqis Political Leadership and Iraqis Military Command believe he is lying. The U.S. Army's 10th Special Forces Group destroyed 5 Iraqis Combat Divisions. Strongly believing that the U.S. and U.N. Coalition Military Forces will attack thru U.S. Ally Turkey, the Iraqis Political Leadership and Iraqis Military Command Redeployed the 13 Iraqis Combat Divisions North of Baghdad from the Iraqis Southern Defenses at the Borders of U.S. Ally Saudi Arabia and U.S. Ally Kuwait, as what the Entire U.S. Military Operation Hotel California was all about Strategic Feint.

2003 The U.S. Army 10th Special Forces kept the 13 Iraqis Combat Divisions stuck fighting North of Baghdad. This was the same area that during the Iran Iraq Wars as a U.S. Army Special Forces Officer in Command of an Iraqis Combat Brigade with three other U.S. Army Special Forces Officer in Command of Three Iraqis Combat Brigades fought against Two Iranian Combat Divisions and Millions of their Ally the Kurdistanis, first massive Artillery, followed by Armor and Mechanized Infantry Attacks, Iranian Airstrikes, Human Wave Attacks. Our Brigades held, 30 to 60 percent losses, Iranian Divisions withdrew. Kurdistanis continued to fight even after Paris Peace Talks until Chemical Weapons Used to Finally End the Iran Iraq Wars just like U.S. Use of Nuclear Weapons Finally Ended World War 2, 1 Million Dead Iraqis, 1 Million Dead Iranians. 2003 Our Kurdistanis Warlord and his Forces returned home to Northern Iraq and the Majority Kurdistanis (30 Million) at Northern Iraq Massacred him, his family, relatives, and all of his Forces and their Families, Relatives and Friends as Collaborators to the Christians, Jews, Unbelievers. As a final insult the Kurdistanis of Ansar Al Islam took the name Peshmerga. Pathfinder Operations, from Baghdad Iraq, to the Borders of U.S. Ally Kuwait, U.S. Ally Saudi Arabia, still the poorly trained or not trained, obsolete equipment equipped, weapons that did not fire, no land navigation skills, either broke down or got lost, again due to President Clinton's 1993 to 2001 Destruction of the U.S. Defense, States' National Guards were no longer getting Federal Funding for Training, Repair Parts, Replace Obsolete, States National Guard Members mostly joined to get free College or University Tuition, access to PX, Commissary, some U.S. Military Benefits, and strongly believed that they would never be in Combat that they did not join for, after Drills was the Family Picnic. Most National Guard Training was Classroom Only no FTXs (Field Training Exercises), most did not have funding for Ammunition for Annual Required Qualification. Many did not attend Basic Combat Training nor Officer's Basic Training. Most got their Positions Politically from their State's Governor not Military Skill Related or Earned Merit Based.

If you want to know to what extent you (the U.S. Public) were Lied to watch the Documentary, The Vietnam War, 2017, all 10 Episodes, as Five U.S. Presidents Lied about the Democrat's Save the Democracy of South Vietnam War. The War Against Iraq was almost as full of lies, especially from Democrat President Clinton and Democrat President Obama "Obama Plan To Win Afghanistan" result "This Administration Does Not Know What The F___k It Is Doing" said President Obama's Political Appointee Civilians on U.S. Army Special Forces General McChrystal's High Level Staff, as they observed all the U.S. Flag Draped Metal Coffins and U.S. Ally Canadian Military Metal Coffins being loaded after President Obama's Failed "Obama War Plan to Win Afghanistan", due to President Obama's Ordered as Commander In Chief U.S. Defense Budget Cuts and Failure to provide the 90,000 additional U.S. Military Combat Forces as Required by the U.S. Army General McKiernan "McKiernan War Plan To Win Afghanistan" that President Obama had Plagiarized from to become the "Obama War Plan To Win Afghanistan". Because of the President Obama Ordered U.S. Defense Budget Cuts since April 2009, the U.S. Military at Iraq ended up just like at Afghanistan lacking Ammunition, Critical Life Saving Medical Supplies, Food, Replacement Helmets, Body Armor especially bulletproof carbon boron strike plates, Repair Parts for Aircraft (not enough CAS Missions) Vehicles and Weapons Systems, Fuel, Uniforms , Boots and Boot laces, Underwear, Socks, Toilet Paper (many got sick)...and do not say that did not happen I was at Afghanistan off and on since 1983 CIA Operation Cyclone 1980 to 1990, and since U.S. Army General McKiernan, till recent. My involvement with Iraq started 1982, O-2, in Command of a U.S. Army Special Forces ODA and ODB (O-3 Team Leader did not have Combat Experience, Teams dumped on me Vietnam Combat Experience U.S.A.S.F. L.R.R.P. and Airborne Ranger), led an Iraqis Combat Brigade as the Defense of Baghdad U.S. Ally Iraq 1982 to 1983 during the Iran Iraq Wars 1980 to 1989.
