Woah woah woah. What happened to all the info here? I thought "Oh hey, it's about time for the Universal Halloween build up. I'll go check Wikipedia to see if anything is going on." Needless to say I was shocked to see the content deleted.

There was nothing wrong with the original article. It was greatly informative and exactly the type of in depth content I expect from this website. The current article doesn't have any of the great details about the storyline of each year, which was very interesting and suprisingly in depth on some years.

I've seen some questionable decisions on this site in the past. Important characters to one show having their entire bio reduced to a couple of sentences in a list of characters while a lesser character on another show can keep their bios for example. But I usually keep quiet as most shows have their own personal Wiki at this point and I always think that there must be some reason it has been removed. This however really scratchs my head as now all the information is lost and there is no other way to access it easilly without persumably navigating the Universal Studios archives. I hope this decission is reversed and the original layout returns because right now, this really isn't all that informative.

- A very disapointed browser

The previous version was up for a deletion debate and probably would have been kept, but was found to be a copyright violation. Kiwisoup has been working extremely diligently to create a new page which is not problematic in that way, and hopefully will have more verifiable references which will keep it from another deletion debate.--~TPW 20:47, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing Style

I've noticed a lot of the information in this article has been referenced but not in the best way. A simple hyper-link does not look good. I use a gadget called refTools which you can enable from the

here. It is simple to use and provides professional citations. Themeparkgc (talk) 03:50, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply

Thanks, I've always found doing it manually to be kind of confusing and painstaking and the advice will really help in the future. Also, thank you for reverting the last few edits.Kiwisoup (talk) 04:39, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Pleased I could help. Themeparkgc (talk) 07:01, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Walking Dead

Not sure who's trolling this page and keeps deleting The Walking Dead from HHN 26 but I added a citation to prove that it is in fact at the event this year even though it's not in the promo material. I know we may not all want it back but trolling Wiki won't make it go away. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.197.196.70 (talk) 04:16, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fact Checking the History of HHN

It is obvious this event has legs, and will certainly continue. Coverage of the most recent years is fine, but the early years are thin, and perhaps deserve some attention and scrutiny. I invite those interested to discuss and contribute.

1. First up, the first sentence of History: "Halloween Horror Nights began... in 1991 under the title "Fright Nights", created by Julie Zimmerman and John Paul Geurts." Can anyone cite a source or reference for this statement? In particular, the "creators" cited; I find no credible source for this, and indeed, have found sources which contradict the statement. Oddjob84 (talk) 14:21, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Added "citation needed" tag to main page. Oddjob84 (talk) 16:28, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Removed unsourced statement. Oddjob84 (talk) 15:48, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2. Edited USH paragraph in History, emphasis on references and clarifying timeline. Added show to USH table for 1986. There was a concert in the Ampitheater, sponsored by a local radio station. Oddjob84 (talk) 19:28, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Added additional text, reference and image. Oddjob84 (talk) 20:40, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

3. Edited first two paragraphs of History for conciseness and readability. Added Fright Nights image. Will return to add additional references. Oddjob84 (talk) 23:07, 10 May 2017 (UTC) Added references. Oddjob84 (talk) 02:05, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

4. Added paragraphs for HHN3 through 5, with references, added summary for HHN6~10, with references, repaired and added references for HHN11, and added sumary similar to previous years. Will return to continue adding references for the above, as well as tweaking writing. Oddjob84 (talk) 16:02, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nikkimaria, you are free to quibble with me about the references, however, please do not delete text unless you have better information. This is obviously a work in progress, and anything I put in main space has multiple credible sources for it. I certainly can, and will, replace the reference. If you thought it necessary, you could have, and should have, placed a [citation needed] tag. Oddjob84 (talk) 13:44, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

5. Worked down to HHN22, adding text and references.Oddjob84 (talk) 01:31, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

6. Worked through HHN25, and am stopping there. While the WikiTables have more recent information, which is fine, the History section needs some time and distance to resolve what is noteworthy. Also, contemporary information begins to look like promotion and/or a travel brochure. Oddjob84 (talk) 14:04, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Halloween Torino

@

Torino, Italy is certainly of potential interest to Wikipedia readers, this is not the correct page for it, so your post has been removed. It would be more appropriate at Haunted attraction (simulated) which does have a list of international attractions. However, please be aware that a link to a commercial site does not automatically qualify for inclusion on Wikipedia, as it will be seen as "promotional", which is not allowed. If you would like help in having this event included, leave a message on the talk page of that article. Oddjob84 (talk) 13:53, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply
