I just added a short section about violent rape as a cause of vaginal fistulas. Here are some links that describe the problem:

I will be adding to the Vesicovaginal fistula article. Adding information like the history behind the fistula and the black women who were experimented on. I will also be adding information about the "father of modern gynecology" James Marion Sims. He is considered a pioneer in the field of science, which was based off of the involuntary procedures performed on black women. I seek to inform and expose these scientific findings. I will be using sources including: SNORTON, C. (2017). Black on Both Sides: A Racial History of Trans Identity. Minneapolis; London: University of Minnesota Press. Retrieved from http://www.jstor.org.proxy.mul.missouri.edu/stable/10.5749/j.ctt1pwt7dz
