Purpose

Sometimes discussions may escalate and become heated. This template may be used to help calm the contributors, which may lead to more efficient resolution of the issue(s).

Usage

• This template may be used as a talk page header or among other headers and banners at the TOP of the page. It may also be included within a section to bring its message directly to those who are trying to resolve an issue.
• Add this at or near the TOP of a talk page in the following manner:

• There is one optional, unnamed parameter for use when this template is added to a section in the body of a talk page:

{{Calm|section}}

This alters the wording very slightly to say "any issue" (in singular) instead of "any issues" in the second sentence:

Please stay calm and civil while commenting or presenting evidence, and do not make personal attacks. Be patient when approaching solutions to any issue. If consensus is not reached, other solutions exist to draw attention and ensure that more editors mediate or comment on the dispute.

• When the no_dr parameter is set to any value, information about dispute resolution will not be displayed. This is meant for use in venues where no further escalation is possible.

Please stay calm and civil while commenting or presenting evidence, and do not make personal attacks. Be patient when approaching solutions to any issues.
