Usage

This template is intended to be placed on a

user talk page to warn contributors of an article that the article has been proposed to be merged
into another article.

To use, append {{subst:mergenote|Name of nominated page}} to a user talk page; a section heading will be automatically created.

If using this template on a WikiProject Talk page, add named parameter wp=yes to replace the phrase "that you have been involved in editing" with "which may be of interest to members of this project".

Examples:

  • {{subst:mergenote | ARTICLE NAME }}
  • {{subst:mergenote | ARTICLE NAME | wp=yes}}.
  • {{subst:mergenote | ARTICLE NAME | target=PAGE TO MERGE TO }}
  • {{subst:mergenote | ARTICLE NAME | TALK PAGE WHERE MERGER IS BEING DISCUSSED }}
  • {{subst:mergenote | ARTICLE 1 | TALK PAGE WHERE MERGER IS BEING DISCUSSED | ARTICLE 2 | ARTICLE 3 | ... | ARTICLE 12| target=PAGE TO MERGE TO}}

This template should always be

substituted
lest attempted replies should modify the template page; editors are encouraged to modify substituted templates to suit unique circumstances.
